Re: Phaser 8560MFP Jam error message won't clear

additional information:

after one hour, the paper path status test finished and here are the results:

R0:4
R1:15706
R2:18
R3:2
R4:0

Acccording to the manual, R1 should be paper size and the value should be 1 or 0. The result here is very strange. What could this mean?

Please advice.

Re: Phaser 8560MFP Jam error message won't clear

I found the service manual and retrieved the error code:

The Jam codes : B2C1:4655.  According to the manual, "Preheat exit sensor unexpected state during mechanical recovery."

The recommended trouble-shooting procedure is:
1. Clear jam and let printer finish mechanical recovery.
2. Check system grounds.

I have cleared the paper jam and the printer has been left on to finish mechanical recovery for days without success. Where do I spray the compress air? Directly on the preheat sensor area?
As for system grounds, what is there to do with that? I could not find procedures to check systek ground.

I also ran the diagnostic test for paper path status. There is a problem running the diagnostic.  Once you get to the Test Selection Mode and choose #2 (paper path status), press ok and it gets stuck with this message "Opening host connection*".  It just sit there for over an hour and nothing else is happening.

Please advice.

Re: Phaser 8560MFP Jam error message won't clear

Thanks for the procedure!

We tried the procedure to reset NVRAM but it didn't clear the error message. Now we need to find out what is tripping the sensor. But where are the sensors that we can spray compressed air on?

Thanks

Re: Phaser 8560MFP Jam error message won't clear

If you are 100% certain there is nothing in the printer to trip the sensor, and don't mind losing everything set on the printer, you can do an NVRAM Reset (Factory reset).

Hold down UP and then push OK

select Reset NVRAM > OK

If the above steps fail, the same can be found via System > Information > OK > Troubleshooting > OK > Service Tools > OK > Reset NVRAM > OK

If that fails to clear the message there is something in it tripping a sensor, try compressed air.

Phaser 8560MFP Jam error message won't clear

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

I ahve a printer problem with the third tray of a Phaser 8560MFP.  After printing from the 3rd tray (legal side letter), it gets jammed.  After removing the jammed paper (completely intact with no torn), the error message didn't go away like it normally does.  It still displays this message on the front display "Jam at front cover, lift the front cover to clear".   Checked all the point and there aren't any paper anywhere.  Even used a card board to slide thru the wheel to make sure no debris were left behind.  Removed all the trays, checked the control panel area and turn on and off the machine but the error message is still displayed.  At this point, with the error display, the printer is completely useless.

Any pointers on why the error message does not clear?

Thanks
