Thanks for the reply, but it turns out that Secure Print was set as default for this WorkCentre on the print server. Going into the preferences of the printer on the user's machine , clicking on the ellipsis button for Job type "Secure Print", and un-checking "Enable Encryption" worked in this instance. While not needed this time, a more permanent solution might be to uncheck this in the preferences of the printer on the print server.
Short answer:
This happens most often when you use Secure Print along With Follow-You print, that issue was fixed in newer firmware, like this one here so try updating.
****************************************************************************************************************************
When Secure Print encryption is enabled in the driver and the MFD is configured
for Held Jobs = Auto Release and "Hold Jobs in a Public Queue, jobs are
deleted with error when released from Equitrac Follow You, "print job was
deleted because of decryption failure."
On the MFD web UI, enable Secure Access authentication and EIP.
On the MFD web UI, go to Properties > Services > Printing > Secure Print >
Print Driver defaults tab and set it to User ID. Save changes
On the MFD web UI, go to Properties > Services > Printing > Hold All Jobs >
Release Job Policy After Log On = Auto release and Hold Jobs in a Public
Queue.
On the Equitrac server, install the Xerox PS GPD and configure it for
the WC78xx IP address and use the Equitrac port.
In Printer Properties, set Secure Print in Printing Defaults and enable
"Encryption in Secure Print settings.
Initialize your MFD for Secure Access authentication and Follow You Printing
via Equitrac Express 5.5.
Print a PDF through the Equitrac secure port
At the MFD local UI, login to your Secure Access session and go to Release
Documents.
Print your job. See it deletes the job and an error sheet prints, "The print
job was deleted because of decryption failure." THIS IS THE PROBLEM.
Notes:
- If you change the MFD setting in step 3 above to "Manual Release" (and keep
the setting of Hold Jobs in a Public Queue), the problem does not occur.
- If you change the MFD setting in step 3 above to Hold Jobs in a Private
Queue (and keep the setting of Auto Release), the problem does not occur.
Solution Title: Fixed in ConnectKey System Software version
073.xxx.086.15410 (and newer)
When trying to print to a WorkCentre 7845, users will get the following error notice printout: "The print job was deleted because of decryption failure"
I tried disabling/enabling "User Data Encryption Enablement" with no luck. Any idea where else I might try?
