Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

yes and why not !

install the printer manually using the print installer then go to the IP tab and  choose HP Jet Direct as the port type which don't have any bi-directional communication .

Do you change the port protocol settings on a Mac?

Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

generally there is two stages for the power save mode; the low power mode and the sleep mode .

in the low power mode the user can"t notice any physical changes on the machine behavior and action is not reqiure here to use the machine it just reduces the power to the Fuser Unit and the network controller keep running. But in the sleep mode the user interface goes out, and the wake up button is lit, and the user have to press the wake up button inorder to use the control panel , In this stage the network controller will shut down.

now what is happpened in your case that the machine went off to sleep mode and the network controller shutted down and didnt wake up again when you send a new print job "In normal cases it must " and you have to restart the machine inorder to be able to print again .

if none of my brevious replyes solved your issue the only things which in my hand to suggest are

1- Go to EWS  "printer web page " > Connectivity > Ethernet > Common >Edit > IP mode > Dual Stack

I suggested on my brevious reply to be as IPV4 because this is what it should be But it once worked fine with a guy who i know as Dual stack

2- try to change the port protocol settings

port 1.PNG

3- Disable the power save mode ; There is an NVM value to do that and it is not allowed to post it here

"you need a technician to do that" .

4- contacting your xerox support centre for further assistance.

Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

I would love to give you kudos but the solution you presented did not fix the problem.  The wireless connection, EWS and AirPrint stay functional after I reboot the printer but it is not functional the next day.  What other solutions do you have?

Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

I will monitor the printer for the time being to see if the solution is effective.  For the time being, I would like to save paper and ink that is expended during every restart.  Is there a way I can turn of the printed report after each startup for more efficiency with resources in my office?

Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

I completed the instructions and successfully updated.  However, the problem persists after being functional for a day.  What are the next steps?

Re: Printer Needs Restarted Every Time a Print Command is Issued After Sleeping.

Hi jasemon

the cloning feature copies configuration settings and Web templates from a device and stores
the settings in a file so you can re configure your printer or apply the settings to another same model printer  whenever need by uploading this file instead of configure it manually .

check this article which is related to VL C405 to know how create or to apply a clone file

Create or Install a Clone File Using the Embedded Web Server
