The macOS® Catalina drivers continue to be released. The Catalina driver for the WorkCentre 3215 / 3225 and Phaser 3260 is now available. If you do not see it listed please select a different language in the language field on the drivers and downloads page and then change back to the language you need and you should see the driver. This is a cache issue that we are aware of and working but in the meantime, the changing language tip will work. We thank you for your patience and apologize for the delay in releasing the drivers.
Hi nlaughton,
There is a Catalina Mac OS10.15 driver for the Xerox C60 HERE. The original post is about a Phaser 3260 a totally different printer.
This is seriously your response? Six years and it's too old? The Xerox C60 retails for $40,000. Are you telling me I'm supposed to buy a new one every six years? And who's going to buy the used one that doesn't work with new computers? This is absolutely ridiculous.
Which is the most closely related printer that you would recommend? I would like to test before upgrading to 10.15.
I did confirm that the Generic Postscript printer driver appears to work as well.
It may have been launched a while ago, but you are still selling this printers as new. I also recenlty purchased one and installed it under MacOS 10.14. I have been waiting for your 10.15 driver to be released. If you are selling this printer, doesn't it make sense to continue to support the most recent version of popular operating systems? Otherwise, customers are expected to read the fine print to discover that they can only use their new printer with an old OS.
Hi Cathy,
The Generic Postscript PPD doesn't work, which does not suprise me, macOS Support in general was always lacklustre for the 3260 - Secure AirPrint for example never worked, and now there is no way to use the printer at all. Well maybe apart from saving in the cloud and using an iOS device for print outs...
I tried every thing I can think of from spoofing a different device to rerouting - I either get a endless "Connecting to the printer", or manage to connect only for it to print out gibrish or a customary error report...
And to think I recently bought a genuine Xerox toner 2 pack for it.
If this doesn't get resolved soon I'm going back to HP :/
Hello AC334,
This device was launched approximately 6 years ago in 2014. The Compatibility Matrix says they will be evaluating drivers for Catalina. What I have heard through the grapevine is that there may be drivers available for this device by the end of the year. That is not a guarantee.
In the meantime,
Bought Xerox 3260 just three months ago. Now find Xerox offer no 3260 printer driver for OS Catalina. Can't print anything pending now, and there's no clue from Xerox as to when (or even IF) a new driver will be available. Tried reloading Mohave software at the suggestion of a Xerox tech person, but it appears that Xerox's drivers don't pass muster on OS Catalina's end; you get a message that Apple "can't check for malware" on Xerox's Mohave software, so you can't install it to try for a workaround. Apple tech support says I can de-install Catalina and re-install Mohave, but the re-installation of the older software would erase the hard drive; would have to back up everything and then reload. Don't want to go there. Xerox: get your act together please! Or if you can't support your customers, how about buying back our useless printers?
I have just purchased a Phaser 3260. My MacBook Pro doesn't have a CD drive, so the software that came with the printer is no use. I tried to download the driver from the Xerox site, but there is no driver for OS 10.15 Catalina. I downloaded the most recent version (OS 10.14) and on trying to open the insaller get the message:
“Installer OS X.pkg” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information
So my brand new printer appears to be useless at the moment. Is there a workaround? Is there a new driver coming? When?
