Re: Printer forcing Bypass Tray when printing with auto-select.

Had a similar issue on a C405 printer.  In order to correct the erroneous settings, I had to:

Open the printer tray
Close the printer tray
Wait for the prompt to come up that asks about paper size, color, etc.
Modify the parameters (in my case, change from 'Custom 1' paper to 'Plain' paper)
Save the new settings

Re: Printer forcing Bypass Tray when printing with auto-select.

go into your job page and see what paper it is requiring.  i had the same issue then i realized that my computer was asking for paper settings that are not available and then it gets sent to tray 5 for you to load the correct paper.  my computer was asking for recycled paper.  all i did was change paper settings so for letter i opened the drawer closed it then it asks you what paper settings you want for the new load of paper in the tray and i changed it to the what it was requiring and in my case it was recycled paper.  in a different coworkers case his computer was asking for hole punched paper.

use that to fix what you have already tried printing but after that is done your best bet is to open the print screen on you computer and then go to print properties and change your paper settings to letter and plain paper.  i have found you have to do this everytime you want to print and have not found a solution yet.

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Software Specialist for more assistance. Please call 1-800-821-2797.

Printer forcing Bypass Tray when printing with auto-select.

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10

Hello.

We have an AltaLink C8035 that has been performing oddly. Whenever a user attempts to print to this machine from any software(win 10 home or professional) with the printer set to the default 'auto-select tray', it will attempt to use the bypass tray. It will then fail to print and hold up the rest of the job que until manually cancelled.
If a computer is set prior to print-jobs to force a different tray, it will print with no problem for a short time before mysteriously having its preferences reset. At that point the only real solution I have found thus far is to uninstall the printer and then re-add it to the machine.
As should be obvious, this is not an acceptable solution.

If I can provide more details I would be happy to do so. Thank you for your time in advance.
