When the paper is inserted, it prompts us on the front panel and asks for the paper type and size.  Now the issue will arise if it doesn't match with the driver's settings, so you have to match it. Now you have to pull out the tray, insert it again, and look at the display. Now both the front panel's settings and the driver's settings should match. For example, if the driver setting is set up for US Letter, and the loaded paper is A4, then the issue will arise. So make sure that both match.

I searched our online knowledge base and found this article for Load Tray 1.  If you are still having issues after trying these steps, I suggest that you call into our support department for assistance @ 1-800-835-6100

Printer paper issue

Product Name: Xerox C235 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10

My tray is 3/4s full but my printer tells me to "Load Tray 1".  How do I resolve this issue?
