Re: Printing 3x5 index cards

Hi all212,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure you have used the instructions for setting up a custom size paper in the driver for the Mac. The custom size should be loaded in the bypass tray and make sure the guides are pushed up to the edges of the index cards. When you print from Word make sure you have chosen your custom size prior to printing.  If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Printing 3x5 index cards

Product Name: VersaLink C400 Color Printer
Operating System: macOS 10.15 - Catalina

I recently bought the C400DN printer to replace an old Epson printer.  My office uses it for printing plain paper, which works fine.  However, we also need to be able to print on 3x5 index cards.  I've tried numberous times and am not able to get this to work.

I am using Microsoft word to print these documents, with the page size set to a custom 3x5 and with the printer setting to scale the scale the document down to fit the 3x5 size.  However, when I print using these cards, the bypass tray will still read as the document type being 8.5x11 (The screen reads "Check the paper guides, and then reload the Letter (8.5 x 11") paper. To cancel the job, select Cancel").  If I load my index cards in at this point, it will begin to print on them, but the printer will become jammed and the document that I pull out from the jam will have about 1/3 of the information printed, with the other 2/3 of information cut off on the righthand side of the card.  I've looked in the options for the device, but I do not see an option for changing the default printing size of the bypass tray, and tray 1 does not print in the 3x5 size.  How can I go about fixing this situation?
