Class Drivers are not preferred, if you will be using them, then you need apps to go with them (That is how V4 and Class drivers work)
For Xerox printers that would be the Xerox Print Experience App.
Once that is all set up you may be able to somewhat follow the directions here, I'm unsure as I abhor v4 drivers. Someday they will be great, but not today in my opinion.
I am trying to print A7 envelopes using mail merge in Microsoft Word. I have read the above answer and have 2 differences with my particular printer.
1. When selecting trays under page setup, the only options that I have are Default tray, Automatically select and Auto. I can not select a particular tray
2. Under printer properties, paper/quality, paper / output, I do not have an option for A7 or for custom paper size. The printer will not print my envelope because I can not select an appropriate paper size for the A7 envelope.
I am using the Xerox WorkCentre 7220/7225 Class Driver.
Help?
You should be setting the tray to 5.3*7.3 (1/4 is .25, round up to .3)
In Word, you can only enter it in one way, and you can see that here:
The printer shows exactly how the envelope should be loaded onscreen when you programmed it as 5.3*7.3
And Word shows you pictures too, so just match them up
If it still fails, try first going into Words Page Setup before the envelope option:
And lastly, any job that says resources are required, touch the job in queue and it will give the option for Job Details and when that is selected it will tell you exactly what resource is required. At that point you can load the tray with those settings and redo the job, or go back to the application/driver and find where those resources are incorrectly set.
I am failing to be able to print on A7 (5 1/4 x 7 1/4) envelopes out of the Envelope Tray (Tray 1). For one thing, I have to enter a custom size (5 x 7) as it is not a selection in the copier, and then when I go into Envelopes in Word to the options, I choose "custom size" because again, A7 is not an option. Under "printing options" I am asking that it feed from Tray 1, and am unsure of what feed method to choose....but it seems that no matter what I choose, it just gets held up saying "resources required."
I know A7 is not a standard US size (it is Euro I believe)? but I looked up the specs for the envelope tray and found the following requirements:
Width: 148–241 mm (5.8–9.5 in.)
Length: 98–162 mm (3.9–6.4 in.)
My envelopes are 5x7 (length x width) so this should work. Not understanding why it won't?
