Printing On Nevertear Paper

They don't document every stock for every machine, it would be pointless since there are machines that can't run some of them in every case.

What Xerox does do is create an RML (Recommended media list) for each device, which is available in many places, but simplest method is to just Google it , do model and rml , so for you "rml c75"

It doesn't have every single stock, it has the ones tested and recommended for the machine (thus, the name) and where to load them, how to set them and how often to use them (in some cases)

If a particular stock isn't there, it means it isn't recommended or it came after the document was created, in both cases, don't use it often and match the settings to the most similar product that is on it.

just got a j75

any idea what the settings should be on that for j75 re the nevertear wristbands

is there anywhere that has the settings for the various nevertear products?  

bizarre that it's so hard to figure out, surely xerox would have precise settings from their own products on their own machines handy somewhere?

Hello Jim,

Labels 2 would be the most appropriate setting.

Image quality might not be great on the DC242, especially if there is heavy toner coverage.  Try a small sample to ensure it meets your expectations.

Avoid print over the die cuts, especially the cross-cut area of the wristband as toner placed here can offset.

If maximum adhesion of the wristband is important, leave an unprinted area for it to wrap around and stick to.

Glad to assist.  Adjust Image Transfer is handy, particularly for the more adventurous materials.  I wish you success with your application.

Had a quick take at the videos the Adjust Image Transfer feature has never been fully used im ashamed to say, time to crack the knuckles and have a look at this feature properly! 

Thank you for the media list as well, We previously have had one from Antalis but only covered one Nevertear stock listed so was trying to play by ear the settings that may be used.

I was thinking of asking over at print planet -  but thought I would ask here first! I think I've been quite lucky as have managed to receive replies here on most posts!

From your posts, I think you might reside in Europe, in which case this Versant 80 media list, released by Antalis, may be more appropriate for you.  See page 10 for Premium NeverTear.

Premium NeverTear runs best from the oversize high capacity trays (Trays 6/7) and 195 micron may need the transfer setting adjusting upwards slightly for best image quality.  Create a new Custom Paper and use the Adjust Image Transfer feature of SIQA to do this.  The videos at Xerox Support may be helpful.

It pains me to admit it, but this forum tends to only be people with problems looking for fixes, and is not really a community, so posts like this one don't see much response because the people running the machine are not here unless theirs isn't working, and they don't look for others they can help while they are here. (I really wsh this wasn't the case)

So, Officially speaking, there is Nevertear in the RML here.

Un-Officially speaking though, it can't hurt to ask the actual users, who do actively answer these sorts of questions over on PrintPlanet.

Not everyone uses recommended media, and Xerox doesn't test every brand, it doesn't mean it won't run properly though, so ask around, it can't hurt.

We're looking to print on Nevertear Paper and was wondering what media type would be the correct or best to use. 

Instincts say Film?? 

The paper is 194microns - so we're setting the weight band - 158-176gsm

We have tried coated and film - film has come out the better quality and would be sufficient. 

Of course this paper is quite expensive so would preferably like as least waste as poss.
