By default it will be Letter LEF (Long edge feed/Portrait) but that is only when a job has nothing at all specified, if something is specified it will print only on what it should. Your PS file has a size, and it isn't loaded in the printer
Would depend on the application creating the ps file. typically in windows that would be File > Page Setup before you print it to a ps file.
In Oracle systems, when you choose Generic PS for the printer from an application there is a paper tab to set it.
Thanks Joe. 2 questionssince i dont have a lot of background on printers,

since you are sending direct without intervention it cant possibly know to print on Letter LEF paper for instance.
Your file is an odd size, even if there is a single page with 8.5*11.01 it won't print.
Best bet is to drop it into CWIS so you can input the paper to be printed on.
Otherwise yo uneed to open the file and set it to a regular size that the machine uses.
Hi,
Am trying to print from an Oracle EBS Sun Solaris system and pushing a .ps file through the standard lp commands. The printer jobs ends with an error "required stock is not loaded only for a particular print job" even though other print jobs are going through. Is there any way i can sort this out.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Anoop
