When I click "Configure port" the following error is displayed: "Error during port configuration. Operation not supported."
You say that Windows 8 or 10 are not supported, but you linked me the driver for Windows 10. So are they supported or not? And if not, why? Printing scout and the other software contained in the software downloads doesn't display for Windows 10, so it doesn't get official support. The driver does, the software doesn't. I was wrong on Windows 8 though.
BTW, I already installed that driver you linked me, but it didn't work!
It should work just fine in Windows 10 with the caveat I mentioned, do not pick the printer from the list, just continue through and do it all manually just like you would have in Windows 7.
I had to download the working driver from Windows Update.
Since Printing Scout doesn't see the Xerox driver it won't find the printer
I tried running PrintingScount as admin and in compatibility mode (I set Windows 7), with no success!
How can I specify the port?
Go into Control Panel >Devices and printers then right-click the Phaser and go to Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port and make sure your settings match these identically.
I can with no doubt state it works in Win10 x64 with the Xerox driver I linked and the Windows 8 x64 CD download to get Printing scout when the printer is installed via TCP/IP port with the settings show above, which you can see me running here right at this minute . There is a newer build of Windows 10 though.
