????
The words "this driver" in my post is a direct link to the driver in question, everything after those 2 words is step by step instructions for installing it.
Thanks for the advice. Have tried a few ways to get it to work, but a bit stuck when you say "install this driver". I've downloaded the drivers, but not sure how to install them. Am I missing something?
Thanks
Sounds like Microsoft is replacing the Xerox driver with a Class driver, and then converting the port to a WSD port, which in turn will cause the PC to show the printer as being Offline when it is not.
Remove the printer, then install this driver.
If the Wizard runs during install, choose the Printer I want wasn't listed option even if it shows up.
Then install Manually as a Local Printer
Then Create a new Port > Standard TCP/IP Port (You need to enter your C405 IP at this point)
Then make good and sure that the Query the Printer and automatically select a driver to use is not checked or you will just end up with the MS Class driver again.
After the wizard finishes, Go into Devices and printers and then right-click the printer and choose Printer Properties > Ports > Configure Port and make your setup match these highlights exactly
The issue will not happen again because MS will no longer make changes in the background
Hi,
I have a Versalink C405 linked through the wifi. I had the printer working fine for the last year or so, but recently had to reset Windows after a problem with an update. Since then I've struggled to get the printer to connect to my computer. I install the drivers, using "Smart Start" and the printer is visible and installs fine. It will then print fine for a short period of time, but then maybe the next day it stops working. The printer is still visible, but when I try to print it sits in the queue and then just reports an error. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ben
