Problem printing from AS400 to a Xerox Workcentre 7120 multi function device.

The easiest way is to set the printer to convert from letter to A4. You can find this entering at the printer user interface, information -> tools -> print service settings -> other settings -> substitute tray -> use closest size.. 

You also can create a customized object in the AS400 based on the HP4 printer, but it is not a easy task. You need to delete everything related with letter. The hex sequence should be "1B 26 6C 32 41 " This is the PCL command to call the letter size. 

Any way the first solution should work.

thanks Rui, but this did not work.

I had another look at the held print on the Xerox 7120 device, and when I look at the detail it is showing an output paper size of '8.5 x 11' paper size, but the output should be A4 paper size, as this is what printer tray 1 contains.

Do you or any one else know how to set the default paper size to be A4 on the AS400 out queue, rather than it defaulting to a '8.5 x 11' paper size?

Hi,

I have set up a AS400 out queue to print reports to a networked Xerox Workcentre 7120 multi function device, but although it does send reports to the device, they sit at a held status and are defaulting to the second output tray which contains A3 size paper, instead of sending them to the A4 / letter tray which is the first output tray. Because there is no manufacturers make and model for this Xerox printer on the AS400, I have set it as *HP4 as I was told this was a default one.

Can anyone please help me with this problem with this Xerox Workcentre 7120 multi function device, so I can get it to print reports to the first output tray or print without the reports being put a held status?
