Re: Problem with Global Print Driver and WorkCentre Pro 423

well, i dont think the 423 is supported anymore... dont know if you can create a service call...

maybe some1  else on the forum a suggestion??

you can also try other drivers for other models instead the global, its trial and error...

maybe you can test a hp driver?

Re: Problem with Global Print Driver and WorkCentre Pro 423

It does not work.

Printer do ignore tray I selected (Auto, tray1,2 or 3) and always print from tray3 :(

Is it possible to open Service Request and get help from Xerox company?

quote:

maybe a possible solution is to install more print queues, on each queue you can define a setting (tray)

for example

printer 1 = Xerox 423 tray 1

printer 2 = Xerox 423 tray 2

Re: Problem with Global Print Driver and WorkCentre Pro 423

Hello Fabio,

Thank you for answer.

Yes it is possible solution, and to tell the truth we use this soulution at the moment (two printers "WC423 A4" and "WC423 A3"). But it is not user friendly.

Is there another way?

Problem with Global Print Driver and WorkCentre Pro 423

Product Name: WorkCentre Pro 423Pi

WorkCentre Pro 423 does not have a driver for Windows 7 x64, so we use Global Print Driver PCL5 x64 (v5.216.12).

Printer have 3 trays: tray1 and 2  - A4 paper, tray3 - A3 paper (WC423 default)

The problem is that when user send print job (A4 or A3), printer always try to get paper from tray3 (A3 paper) in spite of in settings Tray set to Auto. It is big problem, because when user wants to print A4 - he have to select tray1 or tray2 manually (A4), when he needs A3 - he have to select tray3 (A3) manually.

added later:

Printer always try to get paper from tray3 (A3 paper) in spite of in settings Tray set to Auto, Tray1 or Tray2.

In result when user forgot to do it we have stopped printer that ask "put A4 paper to tray3".

The Global Print Driver does not have "WorkCentre Pro 423" model on settings page so we set it as Xerox WorkCentre - black and white. I have tried to choose some other models but have same result - driver could not found appropriate tray.

Can't understand how to solve this problem without reinstalling windows 7 to 32bit.
