Re: Problem with VersaLink C405 and Cardstock paper

Nothing but problems with this printer using Cardstock, even feeding one sheet at a time and using Bypass tray.  I wouldn't even try using the Duplex feature.

Xerox has told me to just change the type of paper I'm using, meaning the printer isn't really suitable for me.

I've been using the 6605 for years with no issues, except now I believe it needs new rollers, as it is jamming too.

Re: Problem with VersaLink C405 and Cardstock paper

Engineering says Auto duplex only works from 80 to 163gsm. Basically up to lightweight cardstock.

The guide is wrong and will have to be fixed.

Re: Problem with VersaLink C405 and Cardstock paper

Thank you for your answer.
I have been looking for the RML as well before but couldn’t find one either.
I am able to print 163g/m2 with the light cardstock setting in duplex. But I really need a little thicker paper to work. I’m looking forward to your reply.

Re: Problem with VersaLink C405 and Cardstock paper

The European RML lists it simplex only for 200gsm and above.

There is no RML on Xerox.com for N America. (Shortfall of Xerox)

You are correct that the C405 user guide states that it can Auto duplex 220 gsm on page 153.

I have a meeting with Engineering tomorrow and will update.

Problem with VersaLink C405 and Cardstock paper

Product Name: VersaLink C405 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello,

I bought the "VersaLink® C405 Color Multifunction Printer" yesterday. My main use will be with heavier cardstock like paper. I also need to print each page front and backside.

Before buying this printer I made sure to read the manual which states that the printer can do two sided printing on cardstock up to 220g/m2.

Now when I set the printer to "heavy cardstock" and double sided / duplex printing -  the printer prints out two pages instead of one and only one side is being printed.

When I use the settings "light cardstock" and double sided, the printer tries to duplex the paper but it jams and failts to print the backside of the page after printing the front.

My paper weight is 199g/m2 (8,5x11 size) and according to the manual should work for double sided printing.

What can I do? Do i need to use a different setting or get a different kind of paper? Please help.

with kind regards

Daniel
