Re: Problem with paper size errors with Workcentre 3045 NI - when printing

Hi again!

The latest one I can find for this machine is v1.0.2.4.

Sounds like you're using the global print driver as you though :)

I would suggest trying to use the driver for this particular model or the newest global print driver (5.404.8.0) to see if there's any difference.

And also try configuring the global print driver for the printer, it can be done under administration -> configuration.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Shoot. I think I may have misspoke. It looks like we are using the PS driver.

version 5.351.8.0N 2014.02.19

that looks to be the current version to me.

Re: Problem with paper size errors with Workcentre 3045 NI - when printing

Hi!

Is the global driver configured for the 3045 printer? (is it an old driver?)

What about trying to use the actual driver for the machine?

Best Regards

Problem with paper size errors with Workcentre 3045 NI - when printing

Product Name: WorkCentre 3045

This happens in PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and a few others, which leads me to believe it's just an issue with Xerox.

If I want to print an 11x 17 you can't select it in the software. This is especially problematic with Adobe software because it Wants to control the printer, not the other way around. If you select 11x17 in Illustrator, for example, it prints 11x17 scale, cropped down on an 8.5x11.

So your first response is to go to Setup>Preferences, and change the paper to Tabloid(11x17) right?

Now if we print we get a print on 11x17, and it's cropped down and basically prints an 8.5x11 print on an 11x17 paper. When would you Ever want That!?

The "solution" is to then choose Other size> change document size, and change that to 11x17.

Oh, but you're not done Yet.

We still notice in Illustrator it still says the Media is 8.5x11.

Hit Setup one more time, then just hit Print to return to Illustrator.

That last step can be skipped in PowerPoint and Word, I think.

We can print, but that is a Terrible Terrible process. We do not have to do that with Any of our other printers. Canon, Sharp, HP, all fine. This is our second Xerox, and they both had to do that. Granted, it's pretty much the same global driver for both machines. But this totally sucks. It's annoying enough that we have people talking about getting another brand for our next machine.

Does anyone know the solution for this problem? What I have is a workaround, not a solution.
