Problems with globa print driver and windows 10 version 1607

Jump to solution

Hello,

It seems there is a problem with the global print driver and the latest version of Windows 10 (1607)

I've tried the latest version and the version before that of the global printer driver, but the issue is the same.

Basically shared printers settings, don't transfer to clients from server, for example, we have some printers set to default paper size A3, however on clients with Windows 10 version 1607, it always shows A4 as default, while Windows 10 version 1511 clients show A3 as set.

have you set the defaults on the server on the "advanced" tab ,when you open the printer properties?

if not, do it there, remove the printer from the client and install again

Yes it is set like that, has been for couple years that we've been using it. I don't think it's a server problem, since it's working fine on Windows 10 Version 1511.

I've tested this a bit, and a machine that is running Windows 10 Version 1511 and is working fine, if I upgrade to version 1607, it will break.

Can you confirm you are speaking about GPD 5.496.7.0?

Your issue was resolved in the latest GPD, but there was an issue for a short while on a few of the older versions.

Just make sure you install it with the version specific one because the other may not actual update an older version.

Hello Joe,

i´ve the same experiance. i´ve updated my print driver because of an certificate problem with Phaser 3600 drivers.

one by one i´ve changed the model specific driver to GPD 5496.700.0.0. PCL 6 (64 and 32 bit) and the last 2 month we have no problem.

since this week, we have a few clients with the 1607 anniversary update installed.

This is a major issue.

All clients with this Windows 10 update will get this problem!

Tested with GPD PCL & PS v 3.7.469.9.0 and v 3.8.496.7.0; all the drivers have the same issue!

Also tested with machine specific driver and same issue!

Tested with non Xerox driver (hp), NO issue!

Watch into this ASAP please!

I have tested this update (KB3194496) on a few clients now, unfortunately the issue still persists, the clients are not getting their default settings from the server.

We are using version 5.496.7.0

Hi,

i tested the MS KB 3201130 and can confirm that the problem is not fixed with the workaround from Microsoft.

My Printserver is on Windows 2008 R2 and all settings worked well until Windows10 1607 was installed.

Hope that Xerox find the problem and fix it soon.
