Are you using the newest Global Print Driver listed on the linked site?
I am also trying to download the driver for windows 7 but keep getting an error message that the Xerox windows common installer stopped working. Any ideas on how to fix this?
can you pleae help me with this similar issue? i cannot seem to get mine to print in color. Did not upgrade software. this is a new computer. plug and play.. driver installed... can't seem to get it to print in color.

There's windows 7 and Windows 7 x64, Make sure you select the right one on driver downloads page. There is also a known issue when/if you upgraded from a previous OS to current. View the link below, the issue while it may be slightly different sounds very similar.

P.S. By the way, I used the Global Print Driver, PS32 bit. I have no idea which driver I was using before, but it was not working well at all!

Could you please provide a little more info regarding your problem?
Are you using the PS driver for the Phaser 8550 that is available on Xerox.com?
Or, are you using the Xerox Global Print Driver or Xerox Mobile Express Driver to print to your Phaser 8550?
Could you also tell me which version of the driver you are using?
