Process Manager on a dedicated virtual server?

We are making the jump to using virtual machines and virtual servers for our operations.  Is anyone or has anyone used Process Manager on a virtual server?

We would be getting a virtual dedicated print server for just the process manager software and I am wondering if anyone has used this or anything similar in the past and what their experiences were.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Process Manager on a dedicated virtual server?

Well, refer to the CED (Customer Expectations Document) for full details, but in a nutshell, support is always a bit skittish about putting procman in a VM. Performance is an issue, you see, procman is I/O intensive right?

So you might want to ensure your VM runs off a fast SSD drive to ensure good speed.

I've seen it run in VM without any problems that being said.

If its slow, remember that the VM can only be as fast as the resources (CPU, RAM, HDD, ETC.) you give it right?
