Pull color from phasermatch spectrophotometer

Product Name: Phaser 7800
Operating System: macOS 10.13 - High Sierra

I'm wading into the phasermatch software (albeit blindly.) I've calibrated both the monitor and the printer, and am pleased with the results. I even successfully scanned three colors and Phasermatch correctly printed those colors. HOWEVER, I'm struggling with how this applies to my printing process. For example, in a perfect world I could scan a color, use said color in my document, and print knowing it will be accurate. Seems like the x-rite Phasermeter would be more than capable of doing this, but it doesn't seem to be the function. Any help would be beyond appreciated!
