Hi toebii,
Please make sure you have the latest firmware installed for your machine.
Hi Cathy,
I reached out to the Support Department on April 8th, but they seem to be rather completely useless. No suggestions, no solutions. By far the worst support I have ever experienced.
Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
Hello toebii,
I see no one has answered this one, and with the complexity of this issue I would recommend you contact the Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist.
Hi there,
I recently bought a Xerox PHaser 6510DN. I am type designer and needed a cheap machine that I can use to proof my work from home.
So far I have been quite satisfied, but now I am experiencing massive issues with the kerning. I was wondering whether something similar has happened to somebody? I am sending some pictures attached so you get an idea what exactly I am talking about.
Here a brief description of my problem:
I am working on macOS Catalina 10.15.4. I tried printing my PDF directly from Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Text Edit, etc. I even generated an high-res PDF via Postscript/Adobe Distiller. On screen, everything looks fine and the kerning values (set to metrics in Adobe InDesign) also look alright.
I tried different typefaces with the same issue happening.
The only way of not having the issue is printing an image of my file, which doesn’t make any sense as the quality is bad and the type pixelated. I also compared to a print-out on a Xerox Work Center 7830 which came out without any issue.
One more thing: I am printing at a typesize of 18pt, so it shouldn’t have anything to do with the hinting (typeface is auto-hinted for the time being).
I have been in touch with Xerox for quite a while now (5 weeks), but the support service seems to be useless.
Thank you very much, T
