Re: Reducing Pages Per Minute(PPM in WorkCentre 5955?

Is it possible to set Tray 3 and Tray 4 for Recycled paper as a default? I see I can do that with Trays 1,2 and 5, but don't see an option to set it for 3/4.

Nevermind. I found the option to change the type of paper, I will let you guys know within the next few days of the result.

Thanks again Joe!

Re: Reducing Pages Per Minute(PPM in WorkCentre 5955?

It would be a balancing act to get it right.

You cannot just choose to print at less pages per minute. The machine slows down for stock related reasons.

The problem with that is it also increases the heat of the fuser. The higher the GSM you choose, the hotter the fuser gets, and the slower the paper goes. But the high heat can cause the toner to flake, and the moisture in the paper to curl it even more.

Probably the safest bet, would be to set it as Recycled paper instead of whatever it really is. That will slow it down since it expects the paper to be much lesser quality.

Reducing Pages Per Minute(PPM in WorkCentre 5955?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Is it possible to reduce the PPM for the Workcentre 5955? I know currently the difference between the 5945 and the 5955 is the actual pages per minute. However I recently have been having a paper curling/jam issue that I had believed to be moisture in the paper. But after countless methods and studying the machine to see exactly whats happening, i believe that the paper may be comming out of the office finisher too fast!

When I was printing a 850+ page job double-sided the pages per minute were reduced causing abosultely no jam, not even a single curl. I'm curious to see if reducing the PPM will result in less paper jams. Any Ideas?
