I'm having hard times with booklet printing. I'm trying to print a booklet with A5 page size, printed on A4 paper, with staples. That is, I have a 12-page PDF document (original document size A4) that I want to print to three physical A4 papers so that they form an 12-page leaflet.
I've tried multiple combinations, but haven't found the right one. I usually get something printed on the center of an A4, then stapled. What options should I select?
With the Windows drivers, this was trivial. I just used A4 as paper size and selected to print a booklet with staples and folding.
I have a WorkCentre 7345 and the newest 1.2.0 drivers on an up-to-date Snow Leopard. I'm using Preview for printing.
Thanks in advance,
Bonus: is there a way to use heavier paper for the outermost pages (the covers) of the booklet?

Solutions for : Booklet Option is Unavailable (Grayed Out) in the Print Driver When Trying to Print on Heavyweight (169 gsm or higher) or Glossy Paper Using Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh OS Solution : Heavyweight and Glossy Paper Cannot be Used With the Booklet Feature
The Booklet feature cannot be used when printing on paper heavier than 169 gm2 (80 lb glossy, 85 lb heavyweight) or when printing on glossy paper. If the paper trays are programmed for these types of paper, the Booklet option will be unavailable (grayed out) in the print driver.
Printing on heavyweight or glossy paper with the Booklet feature is not within the printer's specifications and would create unexpected output results if these types of paper were used. Therefore, the Booklet option becomes unavailable in the print driver.
