Re: Roll over tray

Hi Alan,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure your printer is updated to the latest firmware version that was released on Sept. 6, 2019.  Once you have the upgraded firmware loaded make sure that you have the tray settings configured properly paying particular attention to the priority settings in step 4 of this solution. If that does not fix the issue please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Roll over tray

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Howdy all,

I have an 8045 that I want Tray 3 to roll over to Tray 4 when when Tray 3 is empty. Both trays are set for Letter 8.5x11, plain, white, dedicated tray with Auto selection selected. Tray 3 has '80' as a priority and Tray 4 has '70' as a priority.

My understanding is that when Tray 3 (80) runs out is should roll over to Tray 4 (70), yet it doesn't.

A previous answer follows:

Re: Automatically Select Paper Tray when empty

is this helpfull? your traus must be setup the same, otherwise auto tray would not work :

[Let printer select which tray to print from]: The printer will select the tray that has the same paper size and paper type specified in Document Size and Paper Type menus. If two or more paper trays contain the specified paper size and paper type, the print job will be printed from the paper tray that has the highest priority. If the print job must be printed from a specific tray, select [Force printing from a specific tray].

So what am I missing? Surely it can't be that complicated. I've also look in the Administrators manual...no help at all.

Thanks in advance :-)
