My issues has been solved. I googled a local repair shop and took it in. They said that the problem was that the Develop disk needed to be cleaned.
They did that and clenaed the rest of the machine for $99. Heck of a deal!
Ive decided to take it to a service center. Thanks!
Ill post what the fix was when I get it back.
Thank you for your help... its out of warranty and it would still be sheaper to repair than replace.
Maybe I can do it myself? Ill see what is involved.
In my past expereince I believe it is your drum that is cause the issue. You will want to call Xerox or an ASP to help resolve your issue. I know that these repaires can be pricey if the machine is not under a contract.
Testing this morning each page I sent to the printer was smeared. (Just my luck).... So I ran the knozzle cleaning a couple more times and no help.
What is weird is when I ran the stripe test print... 99% of the page is sharp (All the color bars and the numbers below each bar), but as you can see by the attachment, that only certain text is smeared. Namely the Logo, and test at top and bottom.
I will when I get in the office this week. Thanks for the intrest.
Could you scan and/or upload a picture of this? I have a huntch but I would like to see a sample.
I have a 8860-15 with less than 100k print count. Abut a month ago it started printing the first page smeared, and additional pages may or may not be smeared.
I did the following to no avail;
All of these steps have failed, and all tests were done using self print from the unit itself. The technician had no clue and wanted to sell us another printer.
Has anyone seen this before and how can I fix it?
