Scan Problem

Hi,

We received the fault code 003-942 while we scanned mix-sized paper (A4 and A5) with Xerox VersaLink B7030. Additionally, I have found the below instruction(in red) to fix the issue. As the machine is new, I have reloaded the software but the problem still persists. Thanks in advance for your help.

003-942, 956 Document Size Auto Detect RAP

003-942 The document size cannot be automatically detected.
003-956 Undefined document size was detected when platen is selected and only APS requires document size selection.

Procedure

Perform the steps that follow:

1. Advise the customer to input an appropriate value for the document size, then retry the job.
2. Perform the procedures that follow as necessary:

• 005-194 Size Mismatch Jam on SS Mix-Size RAP
• 005-196, 198, 199, 946, 948, 949, 950 Size Mismatch Jam RAP

3. If the fault persists, reload the software, GP 4.

Moreover, if you believe that we should reload the correct software version, please Kindy share us the version along with link of the software to be downloaded.

FYI, we placed the A4 and A5 papers on the ADF of the machine according to the instruction on the panel.

I see no one has responded to this post yet. So, at this point I would recommend contacting your local Xerox Support Department to speak with a Product Specialist for assistance with the correct software version. Please call 1-800-821-2797 or 1-800-835-6100.

  1. Verify cables connected properly to the back of the scanner. 
  2. Ensure that the scanner is getting power. 
  3. Parallel port scanner troubleshooting. 
  4. PC Windows users verify no TSRs are running in the background. 
  5. Verify the LPT port mode.
  6. Update the drivers.
