This whole thing is just starting to be funny.
You are the closest to finding a solution but no dice. Everything looked promising...I got all the way through settings \ Device \ Notifications but then my printer doesn't have "E-mail Alerts Setup".
I have some serious regret about this printer, between this dumb error and how hard it is to buy toner....
Same problem but found the setting mentioned under
Settings \ Device
Click Notifications section - it starts Supplies then just before Error Prevention there is E-Mail Alerts Setup.
Click that and just above the Save button is Disable "SMTP server not set up" error.
Of course the other option is to set it up - GMail settings should work in this section as described here
Same. This is very frustrating. There are no email settings anywhere I can find, on the control panel, the printer itself, the xerox software.

There's no such thing as "email" under setup. Neither on the control panel nor in the embedded web server.
"Device", "Paper", "Reports" is all there is.
I tried a Factory reset, but nothing changed.

In addition to setting up the email alert did you try these steps?
From the Control Panel touch Settings > E-mail > E-mail Setup > Disable “SMTP Server not set up” error and select On to disable the message.
From the Embedded Web Server click Settings > E-mail > E-mail Setup and check Disable “SMTP Server not set up” error to disable the message. Click Save.
If you are still having issues after trying these steps, I suggest that you call into our support department for assistance.

I tried the E-Mail alert setup but I cannot change anything there.
Where do I configure SMTP-server???

I did it through the Xerox Print And Scan Experience app that I had installed on my Windows 10 PC. Look for "Device Web Page" in the app.

Please help! I am having the same issue but I cannot find this setting you are referring to anywhere. What control panel are you referring to? I can't find this on the printer, in windows settings or in any xerox apps that are on my PC.
