Re: Setting up a B210 on a Mac with Big Sur

Hi there,

Thank you so much for this. It was driving me crazy!

The Xerox instrutions are truly useless. Dear Xerox, the 100s of pages of user manual is pointless for a home user. At this age, you need a one pager quick setup (which works), download, enter network, enter password, go. Never had so much trouble setting up any devices in my life.

Anyway, many thanks again, you saved me from buying a different printer.

Kind regards,

Arpad

Re: Setting up a B210 on a Mac with Big Sur

I'm no expert, so don't really know what to suggest. I seem to remember that when I was grappling with installing on my Mac, I ended up with more than one Xerox printer shown in my system preferences. You could check that isn't the case for you. My only other suggestion would be to deinstall the printer, install it again and try again with the wifi setup

Yes.  I used the USB cable to set up the printer.

Did you temporarily connect the printer to your MacBook via a USB cable?

Re: Setting up a B210 on a Mac with Big Sur

Hi - after a few attempts, I managed to connect to my B210 printer from my MacBook - thanks for the advice.

Straightways after that successful instal and printing a document, I couldn't progress with WiFi set up.  I've used "WiFi Setting Utility for Mac OS 10.15 and Higher" but I get the message "Setup was unable to detect any printers and to communicate with your printer.  If a cable has been disconnected with your computer or printer, this may be preventing Setup from detecting the printer.  Please check your USB cable or printer, then try again."  Any suggestions?

Thanks! I've had quite a lot of trouble setting up my B210 on my M1 MacBook Air. 👏

That doesn't seem to work, either. If you want to see the screenshot, I could email it to you.

Re: Setting up a B210 on a Mac with Big Sur

I had the same problem until I installed the driver correctly. I'm no expert, but can I suggest the following:

  1. Go to system preferences/Printers & Scanners and delete any B210 printers
  2. Open the Xerox_B2xx_Series_Print_Scan_Drivers_v2.dmg
  3. Open the MAC_Printer folder
  4. Open Printer Driver.pkg
  5. Select your Mac hard disk
  6. Press Add Printer
  7. Highlight Xerox B210 (...) in the next box, but don't press Add
  8. In the Use box at the bottom (It's now at the bottom, it used to be at the top), select Xerox B210 Printer (see screenshot), then press Add, then press Continue

I've just reinstalled on my iMac and it works for me. I hope it does for you too.

Yes I am using a Macbook 2020, running Big Sur.

Right now, my B210 is continuously printing gibberish characters till the pages run out in the tray.
