Re: Slow Printing or Print Errors due to Microsoft Windows Update KB4560960 for June

Thanks. I followed your instructions, but when I clicked on 'configure port', nothing happened. I'm guessing I have to have admin status for it to work.

So, before I tried to work out how to gain admin status, I thought I'd try something simpler. I removed the printer and then added it back. That worked! I'm surprised I didn't think of something so obvious earlier.

Hi AlanB

the settings in the screenshot you will find it if you

Go to settings >printer & scanners > click on your printer driver > manage > printer properties >port

but is there a specific ping-type command I can use to make doubly sure?

go to start > run >cmd >Type “ping” and then hit the Space bar on your keyboard then Type the IP Address you’d like to ping and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

Thanks for these suggestions. Can you tell me where I can find the page depicted in your screenshot? I've looked in all the obvious (to me) places with no success.

Also, I believe the connection between laptop and printer is fine. It certainly works for other laptops and used to work fine for this one before I upgraded my broadband, but is there a specific ping-type command I can use to make doubly sure?

Re: Slow Printing or Print Errors due to Microsoft Windows Update KB4560960 for June

This thread seemed to describe the problem I was experiencing. I can't print to a WorkCentre 6025 from an HP Pavilion laptop either via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable. The discussion on this thread blames updates KB4560960 and KB4557957. I found that the laptop in question had had update KB4557957 but not KB4560960. So, I uninstalled KB4557957, rebooted and tried to print again. Unfortuately, it didn't work. I still can't print from that laptop. So, I'm still at a loss and would welcome suggestions.

There is now a fix for the update although not for every version of Windows 10. See below. I used the Engadget.com article because they link to the files for the different versions of Windows 10 therein.

Re: Slow Printing or Print Errors due to Microsoft Windows Update KB4560960 for June

Not sure when the update originally hit...I downloaded it on June 12...Microsoft released this update on June 9th...with my past experience with Windows 10, I think it is highly probable that earlier Microsoft updates also caused problems, but they have not been addressed as of today...

Re: Slow Printing or Print Errors due to Microsoft Windows Update KB4560960 for June

Hi,

it this the same issue as some weeks ago after a microsoft update? We had lots of customers calling in

in server/client environment, all clients suddenly received "driver update required", clicking the update button didnt help, removing / readding didnt help either...

seems older GPD were only affected, versions like : 5.377 , 5.347
"newer" ones like : 5.496 , 5.645 , were not affected...

i updated them all now to 5.703.12 on server, and the issue was gone afterwards
