Smearing on top of every page

I switched the black toner's drum with magenta's drum and the smearing went away. That tells me I need to totally replace that drum. Thank you!

Hi,

Try to swap the drums between them (they are interchangeable) to see if the issue move to another color.

We have a Xerox WorkCentre 7830 that usually works great but a couple days ago it started smearing black toner on the top of every page that gets printed. The rest of the page looks fine but the top always looks the same. Is there a common reason for this issue? Could it be the fuser or drum? I replaced the black toner because toner was low and replaced the waste cartridge because and waste cartidge was almost full anyway. And after replacing the waste cartidge and toner, it still looks like the image below.
