Working on a Document Centre 900 and found that the soild black (K: 100, CMY: 0) doesn’t print soild, it has a mesh/dotted screen over it. Much similar to the tinted black. Please find the following image, the left block is set as soild black. please zoom in for details.
This problem persisted in both graphics and text, even we print from Microsoft Words. it makes the type look fuzzy.
We tried to increase the darkness on the panel, but it does not help.
Also we found that if we set it as registration colour black (CMYK: 100). it is printing perfectly fine. however it is not a good practise to change all artwork for such problem.
Thank you for using the Support Forum. Have you tried removing the black toner, shaking it lightly side to side and reinstalling? If that does not work consider installing a new toner cartridge. If this does not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
