Hi again, Collinzo!
I'm glad to help, please come back to us though if you decide to use a wireless adapter, would be nice to know how well it works if it does work :)
Best Regards
Kimzi
Hi Kimzi, yes if the costs were prohbitive connecting the Mac network to the Win one would be the preffered option
It'd actually be cheaper to have a second printer than set up the gateway/firewalls lol
I was unaware the device had a wireless adapter, I shall engage with a hardware specialist regarding this.
Once again many thanks
Hi again!
The easiest way would of course be to connect the mac network with the win network through a gateway.
You could also go with one printer for each network but that would probably be harder to justify :P.
What about the wireless network adapter for the machine? I don't know if it can work simultaniously with the built in network card though, that something you might be able to ask Xerox?

Hi Kimzi,
Many thanks for the response.
The device is set up as a network printer on the windows network.
The Mac network is purely local, it has no connection with the windows network. The client hasn't been able to justify the cost to do this.. £15-£20k
This is why they've connected to the device from their Mac server PC via USB
Hey you!
I was thinking a little about what you said here
"Or in fact another solution to printing from a local mac network and a wider windows based one at the same time to this device?"
Are the two networks connected through a gateway or something like that?
If the two networks are not connected together, why?
I suggest you have it set up as a network printer.
Best Regards
Kimzi

Good afternoon,
Strange one this one.. which I think I already know the answer too, but thought I'd better make sure.
Client has several Macs all on a local network so has connected the Mac server to the Phaser 7800 via a USB.
This device is and has to be connected to the general windows based network via an ethernet cable.
Not an ideal solution but gets printing done... poorly.. but it does.
However Printing via USB has very limited functionality, particulary not being able to use secure print.
Is there a way to increase the features available when usung USB printing or perhaps using an extra network card?
Or in fact another solution to printing from a local mac network and a wider windows based one at the same time to this device?
