Stapling prints from MacOS 10.8.2 on WorkCentre 7545

Seems to be a problem with the MAC, though I have never encountered this myself actually.

What about choosing the ppd ? by selecting "Print Using: Other" and then navigating to the ppd?

I can confirm that, even though I reinstalled the driver and followed all instructions up to the installation of the printer, nothing shows up in "select driver". As for the controller, it is internal. Thanks a lot!

Heya!

You will have to dowload the dmg file again from xerox homepage, external controller is usually connected to the machine and not on the machine itself, if the display is on the panel you probably have an internal one.

You have to doubleclick the dmg file and follow the instructions.

The dmg file will extract and install the driver for you so after you've installed this you should be able to search for it.

I'm not sure if the machine has a built-in or external controller. As for the "select printer software" window, I tried searching for 7545 in the blank field at the right corner, but nothing would show up.

Heya!

Does the machine have a built in controller or external? you cannot use both drivers, that will not work.

When you're prompted to select driver under "Print Using:", choose "Select printer software" and then in the right top corner you can search for 7545.

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I tried the way you said and I still can't get to install the stapling function. When it asks for drivers I can't select anything to "Choose printer driver", and I've tried with both installers given for WorkCentre 7545 on the website (both built-in and EFI Fiery Controller) but neither worked. Is there anything else I can try to install the stapling function? Many thanks!

Here you go, if something is not clear just come back to me and I will try to expalin further..

1. Remove the printer queue on the MAC by right-clicking in the printer queue and selecting remove. (you can also click on the printer, and then the minus-icon down in the left corner)

3. Download the printer driver (from the xerox homepage)

Run the file and follow the installation instructions.

4. Choose System Preferences -> Print and Fax.

5. Click on "Add other" printer (plus sign on newer OS)
 
6. Choose “IP Printer” on the top tabs.

7. Afterwards you choose LPD/LPR from the drop-down menu.

8. Write in the IP address in “Printer Address”.

9. Double check that the queue name is empty or enter "LP".

10. Choose the correct driver/PPD file from the bottom drop-down menu. (This is the important part, you need to choose other driver and either select the ppd or search for 7545, so you get the correct one)

11. Press on the “Add” button.

Heya!

If you do not have the correct driver then thats the problem, you will need to reinstall the printer with the driver from the xerox homepage.

(When it comes to cups you do login by typing : 127.0.0.1:631 in ur webbrowser/safari)

Though you do not need to change anything here as of yet, the first thing you should do is reinstall the driver correctly.
