Advanced menu won't help, it must be done in the job itself where you define the tabloid pages them selves, everything outside the exceptions applies to things that are by definition, not the exceptions.
The only real way to contact Xerox is to call, and who you call depends on where you are and where you bought the printer.
If you have a Xerox contract and are in North America, the number will be
USA = 1-800-821-2797
CAN = 1-800-939-3769
Thank you Joe for the feedback. I too thought it might be a duplex / long vs short edge feed issue and have toggled those settings in the Xerox Advanced print menu without much effect. Could I provide a PDF in question for your testing or should I proceed directly to contacting Xerox (additionally, what's the best way to contact them). Thank you for all your time and assistance this far.
Odd, that typically only happens if all the following conditions are met
1. Choose paper source by pdf page size is selected
2. Duplex is enabled
And I thought only the back side would rotate 180, the reason being that since Acrobat/Reader decides the page size, and the printer is assuming Long edge feed, it applies the duplex as Duplex flip long edge which works on Letter LEF, but messes up on the tabloid, as it should be duplex short edge for those pages (But the driver had no idea the paper changed so it can't apply).
So if doing exceptions with the other duplex option for the tabloid pages, and not using Choose paper source by pdf page size doesn't work for them, you should just call Xerox and explain it will need to be sparred, of course they will need to replicate the issue, and I couldn't in their lab at the time of writing this, but if you can show them a way to replicate it they will indeed spar it to get fixed.
I have a client that prints multiple sized and page documents, normally a combination of letter and tabloid pages. They are typically printing from Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro (though we've tested on Acrobat Reader DC and PDFs published from InDesign). We're seeing all manner of erratic behavior from jobs being sent to the Xerox 7970. The main issues seem to be the tabloid pages printing upside down in relation to the rest of the document (typically all one-sided prints). I've narrowed this down where if a letter page is printed before the tabloid page in the document it is 180 upside down. If the tabloid page is printed first, with letter pages following, no issue.
I've tried all manner of PCL, PS, and Global print drivers to no avail. I've toggled Auto-select source based on PDF Page Size and Auto-rotate / Center options. I've tried setting the tabloids as special pages in the Xerox advanced properties menu with unsatisfactory results. I've toggled all combination of options with the 180 rotation item in the advanced Xerox print menu. We even downgraded the 7970 firmware after the client mentioned they started having issues around the last time the firmware had been updated (November 2017). The client insists on using a PS driver as it "gets the colors right".
I'm running out of ideas at this point and the client is getting impatient. Any advice or items to try would be helpful. Thank you.
