I've tried both the postscript and PCL5c recommended drivers (version 5.58.10): http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-8860mfp/downloads/engb.html
After seeing the actual instructions for the machine - specifying different paper loading for 2-sided printing - I didn't get as far as trying the Global Print Driver: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-8860mfp/support/engb.html?objGUID=3062
Do you think it might solve the issue?
what driver version are you using? global , non global?
i see in the release notes of the global driver that this issue is fixed in version 5.173.13 and above
Grtz
I went back to the customer yesterday to update firmware and try the above and more, but still the same result regardless of the paper type. There was also no 180 degree option in the driver.
Worryingly, an error page came up which included advice to change the paper loading direction depending on if you want duplex or not:
1. Insert the paper, envelopes, or transparencies in the tray.
I've never heard of a printer that needs to do this! It seems ridiculous, as I would have thought it should be intelligent enough to flip the image if need be.
Is this a known thing on certain printers then?
In addition to the above, it now prints envelopes - well, feeds them through - but they come out blank. Any suggestions?
Thanks for replying Fabio. I'm visiting the customer again today, so I'll try your suggestions and report back.
yeah, seen it before... i think if you change your paper letterhead to something else , its solved
or you can add a second driver for duplex printing with the option 180 degree on
When sending single-sided jobs to tray 2 (setup for letterheads), everything prints the correct way up. However, if you send the same job 2-sided (long-edge), then all of the text is printed upside-down. This happens regardless of source application; I tried from Word and Notepad.
I have tried both the latest PCL and Postscript drivers on several PCs, all to no avail.
Has anybody ever seen this before, as it's a new one to me?
