Toner not fusing properly, all colors

Good evening,

Our the last few months, my printer has not been printing labels properly, and it mainly afftect one side of the paper, though on occassion both edges are afftected but the middle of the paper is perfect.  It primarily involves cardstock and label paper, so I am assuming the fuser is not getting hot enough to heat the toner.

I have been noticing little pieces of plastic floating around the inside.  I finally figured out that the plastic covering on the one side of fuser has melted away exposing something that looks like a gold colored piece of paper.
