Re: Unable to connect Xerox Phaser 3260 to home wifi

Jump to solution

UPDATE: I was able to get the printer connected to the wifi network but connected it to an extender I'm using. I suspect the router that I have does not broadcast the correct signal the printer needs. Either way my issue is resolved and I will mark this as resolved.

Thanks for replying Tammy but the insturctions you gave me were not helpful. They are for a windows machine and I am on a mac. I did retry the  "Wireless Settings" app to see if I can find a "Yes, I want to turn on Wi-Fi Direct on my printer" on the software but there was not.

I've already called the number and they could not help me telling me my printer was out of warranty. They emailed me these instructions: https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/article/en/2095633 but they are also windows focused instructions and I'm on a mac.

Unable to connect Xerox Phaser 3260 to home wifi

Jump to solution
Product Name: Phaser 3260
Operating System: macOS 12 - Monterey

I'm on mac sonoma 14.0, and am trying to connect my printer to the wifi network via the wifi settings utility found here: https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/content/150014

After connecting my macbook to the printer via usb cable the wifi settings utility app was able to find my printer and was able to find the wifi network I am trying to connect to. I entered my wifi password (which i've quadruple checked to be correct) and I get an error:

I've made sure the wifi password was correct (its a WPA2 password). I've restarted the printer and the router (by unplugging both and leaving it unplugged for alteast 30 seconds before replugging).

Not sure if it matters but I have verizon FiOS as my internet at home and the router I have has these details:

I've also tried using the Xerox Easy Assist iOS app but it seems like that will only work if the printer already has an IP address on my home network. I'm stuck and not sure what to do next, please help!
