IP addresses are specific to devices, if you had one, there is very little chance it would be the same as mine.
Since you are USB based you don't have one.
Remove all drivers with the printer unplugged.
Reboot.
Plug in printer
Let windows install it as normal.
Open Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer and go to Printer Properties
Click on the Advanced tab
click New Driver > Next > Have Disk > Browse
Driver should appear in C:\Xerox.
I cannot give further details as I don't have a 7400 and haven't used USB for printing in about 8 years, so I totally forget the setup.
Hi Joe
Thanks for this.
I've downloaded the driver and as we don't run on a network, I've selected add it as a 'local printer' and created a new port and selected Standard TCP/IP port. I know this is probably incorrect, but I then add the information you have posted on your screenshot;
IP address: 192.168.1.101
Port Name: 192.168.1.101
It didn't work - it took me to a screen asking me for additional port information.
I then found my IP address and entered that in but it still took me to the section asking for more port information.
Please could you offer some further assistance. While I know my way around computers quite well, I'm not great when it comes to networking and installing printers etc.
Thanks again for your assitance.
Kind regards
Ben
Sounds like even if you downloaded the Xerox driver you ended up getting the Xerox MS Class Driver.
Download and install the full Xerox driver.
If it is networked, don't pick it from the list of printers, add it as a Local Printer and create a New Port > Standard TCP/IP port
And make sure on the port page the highlighted option is not selected.
Hi everyone
First time posting on here.
Basically I've been using Xerox Phaser 7400 machines for about the last 7 years now and haven't had any problems until recently. I've upgraded both my laptop and desktop with new machines and they are both running on Windows 10. Anyway, I install the printers and am able to print from them, but SRA3 sizing does not appear. I've entered in the custom size and it comes up saying 'The custom page size parameters you have set are inconsistent'. Why is this happening? I've never had a problem printing SRA3 on all my other machines. I've tried several PDF programs to see if it's the software but it does it on all of them so I'm left thinking that it's to do with the driver.
To use the printer I simply went through the plug and play options. Do I need an updated driver for Windows 10? If so, could someone please direct me to where I might locate this.
Having the printer being unable to print SRA3 is seriously detrimental to my business, so any adivce you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance everyone and look forward to hearing some responses.
Kind regards
Ben
