Re: Using a finisher to fold a tabloid size paper and also print mass mailing addresses onto the tab

I HAD a similar (or same?) problem...

I wanted to print an 11x17 newsletter with a fold. The machine would print a stack of them all tucked into each other and fold at once. No bueno...

My solution was to go into the print dialog box and UNCHECK the "Collate" feature.

Now each page prints and folds separately. Voila!

?????

I'm saying it can't fold more than 20 pages at a time, so a 200 page job is a no go with folding. Without folding the job will run just fine.

Are you saying that the machine can only handle a mailmerge job if it is less than 15-20 prints?

Re: Using a finisher to fold a tabloid size paper and also print mass mailing addresses onto the tab

200 copies of a job is 200 pages being folded individually, which is easy to do for the finisher.

But when you added the Variable data, you made 1 200 page job, the finisher can't fold more than 15-20 (depends on finisher being used) at a time, and can't split it up either, because finishing applies to the job, not individual parts.

In short, your idea was great, but it just isn't doable

Using a finisher to fold a tabloid size paper and also print mass mailing addresses onto the tabloid

Product Name: WorkCentre 7970
Operating System: Windows 7

Hi my church leases the Worcentre7970 with finisher  but I am having a problem with mass mailings.  I run a monthly newsletter on a tabloid sized sheet, with a circulaltion of 200 parishioners.  Our office is small and the secretary works very hard to run the office.  I was attempting to make her job a little less stressful by printing the addresses directly on the newsletter by importing an excel spreadsheet with the names and addresses of the members of our church.  I can get the document to print and fold 200 copies with no problem.  But then the sec. has to print and paste 200 labels on the newsletter.  I "cleverly" thought that I could save her a step by printing the addresses right on the document but I can't get it to work.  My question is that is it because of the size of the file that the printer can't handle or could it be that the software needs updatiing?  I think this must be a question asked by a lot of people who print for small organizations and businesses.  I even tried saving the file as a pdf thinking that it would make the file size smaller but still wasn't able to solve the issue.  Is there something that I am doing wrong in the print set-up or is it just that you can't print multiple addresses and fold at the same time.  I think it would be a huge help to lots of people who use Xerox products.  Please tell me that you have an answer.  It would be much appreciated.  Thanks.
