Hi rwrd, It sounds very much like the person who purchased the device did not get the Postscript interpreter. If this is the case there is no driver that will give you full functionality as there are only PS drivers for the Mac. And while OSX has a Generic PCL that will get it to work, all options like the finisher, extra trays, mixed media, staples, folding and Accounting will all be missing..
You can verify if the printer has a PS interpreter by verifyingit shows up her ein CWIS. (Centreware Internet Services)
Properties>General Setup>Configuration
If that is indeed installed, we would need to troubleshoot what is happening during the driver installation, If that does not show up, you need to get in contact with your sales agent, the Postscript interpreter is not free as there is a hardware board that is added along with the software that runs it.
Hi Mitch,
Thanks for the reply :smileyhappy:
I have installed the driver from the URL http://www.support.xerox.com/support/workcentre-7120/downloads/enus.html?operatingSystem=macosx107&f...which is driver version 3.43.0(1429).
After entering the IP Address of the printer and using the default settings it doesn't print and gives error 016-749. We find this strange because the printer should print from MacOS.
Thanks in advance
Hi rwrd,
What official driver did you install? Was there a version?
Hi,
After installing the official driver we are trying to use the Xerox WorkCentre 7125 on MacOS, but the printer is giving an error (016-749) and doesn't print. We have also tried the Generic PCL driver but it doesn't give us acceptable results.
Is there anything we can do to make this printer work on MacOS?
Thanks in advance.
