Re: VersaLink C7000 and B610 not handling Custom paper sizes

Yea, we can try the lastest print driver over winter break, but that is not something we can do in the middle of the term. I don't think it is a driver as the Phaser printers converted the custom paper sizes itself and the new ones don't do it, that I can find.

Having people that know how to make PDFs and print would be great, but we have 30,000+ students printing about 15 million sheets a year so that is not going to happen.

I recomend your print server use the new global drivers for the new printer's hardware controllers. They are a different architecture.

If you are printing custom sizes from PDFs and are using Adobe you also must uncheck "Choose paper source from file" and default it to 8.5x11 for conversion.

Re: VersaLink C7000 and B610 not handling Custom paper sizes

We have a print server and both old/new printers all use the same driver and the old printers don't have a problem. so I don’t think it would be the driver.

Those menus are not on the VersaLink printers. Most of the paper management options are under Defaults and Policies. and the only spot it forces device is for banner pages and that is turned off.

I guess is they removed a feature.

Re: VersaLink C7000 and B610 not handling Custom paper sizes

I would double check the Printer Driver configuration to make sure all paper sizes are avaliable for you to select.

In CWIS -> Properties -> Services -> Printing .. Could be set for the Driver to override printer settings

Could check this location as well CWIS -> General Setup -> Paper Management

Might be a setting or 2 that might need to have a closer look at.

VersaLink C7000 and B610 not handling Custom paper sizes

Product Name: Xerox Versant 180 Press
Operating System: Windows Server 2012 R2 x64

We have 75 Phaser 5550s and 7500 that we only have letter paper in and if a custom paper size is printed to them they convert it to letter paper with no problems. We are looking to replace all of our printers with the B610 and C7000, but when we send a custom paper size to it when everything is set to 8.5x11 it just gives an error. Is there anyway to make the new printers work like the old ones?  If they didn't put this convention in the new printers, can it be added?
