I've had this from new, and it's driving me mad. It will sometimes work if I restart the printer, but sometimes it turns itself off again before I get the chance to return to the computer and send it to print. Surely it should wake up when you send it a document? The company that sold it to me don't have any answers either. I've always had Xerox (my last one was 14 years old!) but I'm so disappointed in this.
