Versalink job queue processing

Product Name: VersaLink B600/B610 Printer
Operating System: Windows Server 2016

We are printing around 1500 pages a day on a B600.

Jobs are from SAP as batch processing (approx 30 Jobs every 15 min.), received by SAPSprint, forwarded into Windows Server Print Queue.

For SAPSprint job processing is ok when receiving returncode 0 from Windows Spooler, even when the printjob stuck in the jobqueue of the Versalink.

Now currently we have the problem that job queue somtimes and randomly puts all jobs into state "waiting to print" and the only way to release this is to reboot the printer - with the downside to loose all the jobs in the queue.

We used to run HP Printer (M605) where print jobs where held in Windows spooler until they got finally processed by the printer. Do I have an option to configure the Versalink in such way?

Hello CherylO-Xerox,

the linked post does not have any conjunction with my question asked. The printer is is processing the printjobs, that is not the problem.

Because of the nature how the printjobs are delivered from the host spool system (SAPSprint, batch every 15 min.) with the current way the internal queue is processing the jobs I am loosing all buffered jobs from the Job list once the printer freezes or has other difficulties and needs to be restarted.

My question was if there is a way to configure the printer in a manner that outstanding print jobs are sent "one by one" to the printer.

BTW: The Support number in your post is useless if called from outside US. After 20 min. of waiting in queue the dispatchter wasn't able to route my call to an engineer.
