Re: Versant 2100 question about sizing at the controller

I pasted the following from a pdf I found online. The feature I'm talking about is at the Docucolor controller panel. Let me know if it helps make my question more clear.

Thanks for the reply.

Paper stretch correction can be done using the “tools” mode registration adjustment, but front-to-back

trim mark registration may not always be possible. This is because the side-1 image expands by the

same amount that the paper stretches, thus making it necessary to expand the side-2 image by the

same distortion amount. In order to compensate for this you can use the Alignment Adjustment tool

(refer to the System Administration Guide Tools Mode Chapter). The tool will allow you to create up

to 20 custom profiles for individual paper stocks. Lead / Side registration, Perpendicularity, Skew,

and Image Magnification (Process and Cross-Process directions) parameters can be adjusted for

optimum registration performance.

Re: Versant 2100 question about sizing at the controller

I can't find an option to do that on any machine running a Fiery or Freeflow in any lineup.

I just tried a Dc260/560/700/C60/J75/Versant 80/DCP4127 and iGen5.

Due to it causing distortions they all only enlarge in both directions in any method I can find.

But the oldest Freeflow I have access to is 7.0SP3, and the 8000 is from the previous gen (DocuSP 6)

Do you have a screenshot of the feature? I tried the driver for the 8000 and don't see the option there either.

So I would think it cannot, but I can't confirm as I don't have an in-house 2100. But if you can show the feature in action I may be able to get more information on it.

Versant 2100 question about sizing at the controller

Product Name: Xerox Versant 2100 Press

HI, My company is considering a Versant 2100 but we are being told that images can only be sized one way. In other words. There is no X and Y independent sizing options. Any change to one will affect the other. Can anyone confirm or refute this? It sounds....not right. Our Docucolor 8000 has this abillity and I would think it exists in later digital presses.

Thanks

Tony
