Compile tray no paper sensor is dirty
Okay! Thank You Joe!! I appreciate it!! :)
Except I am not guessing and it appears the others were.
I took my information from the actual service manual for the finisher you have. And due to the cause being a door sensor, it would hardly matter if a booklet maker was being used with exception to a scenario where the vibrations caused by the fold function shook the door loose.
Thank you Joe,
But the problem is Ive been told SO many different things. Ive been told that this code is for a machine with a different finisher (C and Z fold) attatched. Ive also been told its the folding knife being either out of place or it has a broken piece. What really baffles me is it does it when im NOT using the folder or even the booklet tray! When it happens again (becasue it will) I will try doing what you said and see if it works. Thank you!
Cause and Remedy
The finisher front cover is open.
Finisher malfunction
out before completely coming out to the finisher tray. Make sure to take out the paper
after it completely comes out. Switch off the machine power, make sure that the touch
screen is blank, and then switch on the machine power. If the error still is not resolved,
contact our Customer Support Center
So in short, open and close all doors and levers within then reboot.
Kill Finisher power via the breaker on the back of it and power it back on if above fails
My guess here is that one of the contacts for the door sensors is bad, in which case you would need a tech, or an electrical background and a Service manual.
I have asked many people including my xerox rep about this and have yet to find an answer to my problem! The Error code i'm getting is 012-299 and when i search for it on the xerox website it isnt listed for my machine. I have a finisher with a booklet maker that does half fold and booklet folds ONLY. I am randomly getting the code when Im NOT using the booklet maker and printing a lot of copies (roughly 700+). I have to completely shut down the machine and reboot it to clear the code. Thank you in advance for your help!
