Why do I need to choose *Both* paper size and document size

Product Name: AltaLink C8030 / C8035 / C8045 / C8055 / C8070 Color Multifunction Printer
Operating System: Windows 10

I work with CAD


As such I batch print PDFs with the setting "Choose paper source by PDF page size"

However, A4 is now scaled up and printed on A3 despite acrobat reader showing the paper size to be 297x210 mm.

Yes, I know I can change that via the settings Paper>Other Format.
However

A - I need to change it both places

B - At best, acrobat reader will only change one of the settings, either scaling it or printing true size on a differently sized paper.

 

Up until around two years ago this worked perfectly fine, but it seems the driver geniuses from Xerox thought it would be funnier to disrupt this workflow.
