An Analyst in Belgium was telling me about that early this week, seems to be a Windows update, no idea on the fix or cause.
You may need to call Xerox and report it to get them to look into it.
All windows 7 pcs in our domain have various xerox printers with Global print drivers mapped to them (Xerox GPD PCL6 V3.4.37736.0). All of the sudden when they go to print now, it says driver update required (no driver was recently updated on print server). It then redownloads driver from print server then prompts UAC and requires admin credentials to install.
This isn't an issue with win 10 pc's. Also there is a group policy that allows guid class exception for printers, for all users to be able to add and installl printer drivers without prompts. This is working with other manufacturers printers in the Domain.
If admin logs in and adds driver it works like normal. But thats very tedious for multiple computers. Any idea why this just happened on win 7?
