Microsoft supports a way to install Windows 10,more info from:
And in addition, using the installation disk is also a good idea. Now more and more users are willing to make a Windows installation disk and use it to install Windows 10 on the computer.
Just like this:

To resolve the specific “Driver Is Unavailable Printer” error, i found 2 very good solutions. You can either uninstall the printer and the compatible software & then reinstall it or you can search the available driver and pick out the correct one for the printer.
So, after spending a lots of time to solve this problem, I found the following:
For some reason the installer doesn't adds this printer to the printers in the registry. So the solution is the following: After the failed installation go to the Registry. Find the 3020 somewhere close to the Printer registry key, You will find, that it's listed in a different entry, so export this entry, replace the "printer ???" withe "printer" in the address, and import it.
That's all, the printer works.
Hi,
Thank you for your idea. I did what you suggested, but no luck.
If I connect via the USB cable, then the Xerox will not have TCP/IP, as it works as a USB model. In this case the installation starts, can set up the wireless connection, the printer is able to print the test page, however Windows will NOT recognise this unit as a printer, but as an unknown device, so it can't print on it.
If I disconnect the cable, then I have the IP address, so I was able to add the unit as a network printer. In this case I was able to add the driver manually to Windows, but even if it finds it as the proper driver, the installation says: "Driver unavailable".
So, there is currently no solution, as for some strange reason Windows doesn't want to "understand" this printer/driver combo. For the record, if I want to install the printer in the regular way, then the annoying 0x000006be error appears again. I tried the free softwares to repair the pool, removed the ports from the registry, but there was no difference in the behaviour.
Do you have any more idea?
Thanks in advance.
Install it manually using the files the installer put in c:\Xerox\Phaser_3020
Hi all,
I have a Xerox Phaser 3020, which worked fine in Win7. Currently I've just upgraded to Windows10, and currently I can't make it work.
First of all, Xerox listed this printer as a Win10 compatible one, and offers the necessairy drivers, however I'm not able to install these, as I can get an error message in hungarian, which can be translated as "The driver can't be installed. The remote process calling wasn't successful". There is no error message! The most strange part is, that sometimes I see the printer in the Win10 printer menu, sometimes not, if I access wia the wireless, then the Xerox center recognises the printer, I can see the page count and so on - but there is no way to use it as a printer.
So my question is very simple: How can I use this printer with Windows10?
Thanks in advance for any idea.
