Drivers don't stop a job getting to a printer, they only stop it printing correctly after it gets there.
But to verify this, install the printer with an HP Lazerjet 4 driver, this will insure no possibility of Xerox software/driver being the cause. Be sure to use the same exact port.
You could also verify it is an issue in the print spooler simply enough. Take a document (pdf) and use Print to File. Which will have the job spooled and printed to a print ready file on the PC, at no point will the printer be communicated with. Open EWS and submit the print ready file to the printer. If it prints, it isn't the driver, or the printer, or the Windows spooler. It has to be a network/firewall issue with RAW/LPR
You could also take that file, or any random pdf, and submit it from the commandline in Windows to the printer
by enabling LPR. Once that is done run this from the command prompt by typing lpr -S 13.226.176.65 -P print "C:\1.pdf"
Of course the IP will be that of your printer, and the path/file will be whatever your files name and location is.
Hi Gabi
the port is on TCP/IP.
I did try to alter the settings from RAW to LPR and made sure the checkboxes where unticked. The queue name is set to 'lp'
This did not solve the issue.
any further ideas? This realy is a tought fish to catch tbh.
kind regards
R
Hi,
Try this and hope to solve youyr issue:
Most of the issues with non printing jobs and „Offline” messages are from driver settings.
First check to see if there is no job in the print queue (delete any job if exist).
As per Joe053204-xrx advice check the port to be on TCP/IP and not WSD. MS convert the port to WSD. If it is so, click right on the print driver and click on „Printer Properties”, click on „Ports” tab, click on „Add port”, select „Standard TCP/IP port” , click on „New port” and set an IP and in the next window click „Finish”.
After that click again on ''Ports'' tab click on "Configure port" and change from RAW to LPR, at the Queue name write "lp" and be sure to unchecked "LPR Byte Counting Enable" and "SNMP Status Enabled".

Hi
since a few days two of my users are having issues printing from their laptops. Laptops are Win10 x64 pro, printer is connected directly via TCP/IP port.
Other users, also Windows 10 x64, are not having any trouble printing to the device.
It seems some kind of driver or communication issue on printing level. On both devices we can see the status of the printer with the printer tooling software. When we send a print job to the printer it go's into the Windows printer queue and gets status, printing. Then after a minute we do get an error stating, Windows could not print and the print job goes into error state.
I tried several things already;
reinstall printer on device
remove all TCP/IP printing ports and recreate them manualy
install printer manualy
install printer with tooling from Xerox website
remove all printer drivers via 'Print server'
install printer with Xerox Smart Start (version 1.1.32.0.exe)
Printer installs fine, is available and online. We print a document and after a minute the job goes into error. We are at the end of our most common solutions. Please be so kind to help us out with this issue.
Thanks in advance
Rikke
