I ran into 3 more occurrances of this problem. Only happens with IE (this version was 9) installed on Windows 7. The web page contained PDF content that was displayed in an acrobat session inside of the IE browser window. Tried to print to a 7120, 5135, and 7545 using the PS and PCL drivers. In each case the browser window closed immdiately and the print job did not print. Using Firefox for the same page worked fine. We used the XPS mini driver for the 7120 and the Generic PPD drivers for the 5135 and 7545 to fix the problem. The latter had the notifications on and it did not cause a problem.
if you goto the options tab in the driver , you can disable the bidirectional setup and the notifications...
Maybe your firewall/spooler is crashing beceause of this?
Ran into a problem with Internet explorer. The spooler service would crash when IE printed to the Xerox 7530 from either PCL or PS drivers. Also got a message on the screen that the xerox job monitor had an error. I was able to workaround by installing the generic PPD for the machine and using that when printing from IE.
